Issue: | Excel-based reporting, budgeting and forecasting systems not suitable for further business growth. |
Solution: | Established reporting and other requirements in a User Requirements Specification. Used this for initial demonstration assessment of all leading BI systems, incluidng IBM Cognos, Hyperion, SAP, Infor, Qlikview and several others. Held "Proof of Concept" sessions with three short-listed suppliers to establish the most appropriate solution. Planned implementation phases and related amendments to accounting system. Provided design for system and helped with implementation. |

Issue: | CEO and divisional directors not getting the management information they required. |
Solution: | Carried out Management Information Review. Interviewed the directors of each business unit to identify and develop their key reporting requirements and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) - both for results and business drivers. Pulled this together into a specification document for the entire business. Reviewed a range of potential Business Intelligence (BI) solutions and recommended a shortlist. |

Issue: | Not getting management information from well-known package to control business basics, and management had lost confidence in the system. Business expected to triple in size internationally. |
Solution: | Compiled "User Requirements Specification" covering current and future needs. Used this to assess current system, alternative support arrangements, and alternative systems. |

Solution: | Wrote a report linking sales orders to purchase orders that was used to claim rebates of some £600,000 per annum. |
