CAMWELLS MANAGEMENT

Camwells was founded by Chris Challis, who qualified as a Chartered Accountant in the 1980s.

He qualified with Grant Thornton in Oxford as first prizewinner for the Thames Valley region.

His interest in using and commercialising technology started as a Natural Sciences graduate at Cambridge Universit

This interest developed as Head of Finance at Celltech the biotech, putting in the foundations to later reach the FTSE 100. He joined Price Waterhouse as Computer Audit Manager and Financial Management Consultant, working with clients such as Sony, Hewlett-Packard and British Gas, plus many small and medium-sized businesses.

He then worked in a sales role at a computer systems reseller, which means a first-hand understanding of how to work well with such suppliers.

He has been the IT Faculty representative for the Thames Valley Society of Chartered Accountants (TVSCA), for whom he has been arranging popular events since 1998. These include over 30 events in the "Internet Business Forum" and the "Biztech" Business Technology Forum series. He now contributes articles regularly to the Institute's "IT Counts" website.

He has been a member of the Management Board of the Cloud Industry Forum, for its Code of Practice. This is to support this initiative to let end-users better see how cloud providers can deliver a robust and secure high quality service, and to continue to develop the Code of Practice and associated best practice.
